How to install
  1. Enable Developer Mode on your headset (Meta account → Developer settings)
  2. Install Meta Developer Hub on your computer
  3. Connect your Quest via USB-C and trust the connection
  4. Drag the APK file into Developer Hub, or use: adb install EarthIn360.apk
  5. Find the app under Unknown Sources in your Quest library

Android — Google Cardboard

Turn your Android phone into a VR viewer with a Google Cardboard headset (under £10). The app uses your phone's gyroscope and the Cardboard lens split to give you a hands-free 360° reef experience.

  1. Get a Google Cardboard viewer (or compatible clone)
  2. Download EARTH-IN-360 from Google Play
  3. Open the app, tap the Cardboard icon, and slide your phone in
  4. Use the magnetic button or gaze-select to navigate habitats

Works with any iPhone running iOS 15 or later. Pair with a Google Cardboard or compatible headset for the immersive split-screen view, or use the flat 360° explore mode without a headset by simply moving your phone around.

  3. For flat mode: just tilt and pan your phone to explore
  4. Headset optional — the app works great in both modes
